Essential Bolt Assembly Component

Located within the bolt assembly, the AR-15 extractor plays a critical role in the firing cycle. After each discharge, the extractor engages the rim of the spent cartridge case and pulls it from the chamber as the bolt carrier group cycles rearward. The extracted case is then ejected from the receiver by the ejector, allowing the rifle to chamber the next round.

Designed for Consistent Performance

As the bolt carrier group moves rearward under expanding propellant gases and returns forward under buffer and recoil spring pressure, the extractor must maintain consistent tension and engagement. This extractor is designed to deliver positive, reliable extraction, even in carbines and short-barreled rifles (SBRs) where operating conditions can be more demanding.
